(Gov Nyako-losing grip?)

The political structure of Adamawa state governor Murtala Nyako on Tuesday suffered a set back with three members of the state House of Assembly defecting from All Progressives Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Members are Mr Wafarninyi Theman of Hong Constuency, Mr Simon Issa of Song Constiuency and Alhaji Abubakar Jarengol of Mubi North Constituency.
Announcing their defection at the house plenary on Tuesday under matters of personal explanation, the lawmakers who were elected to the house under the platform of defunct ACN and CPC said after consultation with their constituencies they were advised to move to PDP.
Speaker of the House, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, said the development was a welcome one.
” By this development, all the 25 members of this assembly are now PDP members”, Fintiri said.
Reacting to the development, Publicity Secretary of APC in Adamawa, Rev Phineas Padio, said the development was normal and it would not affect the chances of APC winning elections in the state.
” Let me make it clear that the movement of those lawmakers will not affect and can never affect the APC in the state being a grassroots party”, Padio said.
