The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has reversed its earlier order banning officials from attending pro-Jonathan rallies and other events.
A statement by Chief Olisa Metuh , national publicity secretary of PDP on Thursday said “ Further to the endorsement of His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, by the National Executive Committee (NEC) as PDP’s sole Presidential candidate, the National Working Committee has cleared all elected party officials at all levels to attend and fully participate in any event organized in support of his candidacy.”
“By this, all elected party officials and party members are at liberty to fully involve in events and activities organized by groups or individuals supporting President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 general elections”,Metuh announced.
PDP issued an order recently banning officials from attending rallies as criticism trailed the profile of highly placed officials at events organized by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria,TAN.
TAN has been holding rallies across all the geopolitical zones of the country chalking up endorsements for President Jonathan to for a second term in the 2015 presidential race.
It must be said that the order restraining government officials from TAN rallies has been obey more breach as officials still proceeded to attend its rally in Bauchi afterwards.
The latest clearance is obviously to ensure huge official presence at the TAN rallies scheduled to hold this weekend.
