Mr Oluwasegun Musa, the Lagos State governorship candidate of the Advance National Democratic Party (ANDP), says that businesses will no longer fold up in the state if he is elected in the 2019 general elections.
Musa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos that he would put in place structures to stem the precarious business environment leading to the development.
“There will be no more “death’’ of businesses in Lagos when I am elected the governor.
“Nobody will kill or shut down any business enterprise in Lagos because they will be adequately profiled and protected.
“Some of these enterprises are intimidated and at times forced to close shops because there was nobody to defend them,’’ he said, adding that he would defend them or the business owners.
He said that there would also be Instant Range on Crime (IRC), noting that there would be security gadgets to detect criminals in any part of the state that a crime was being committed.
He added that the entry and exit of that crime scene would be shut down until the criminals were arrested.
Musa, who is a security expert and critical stakeholder in the private sector, also said that there would be night life in Lagos once again.
He said that the citizens could access medical care and basic needs among other things at the night with adequate security of lives and property.
The security expert said that Lagos would be turned around to the real Mega City in terms of development and not in terms of population.
The gubernatorial candidate also said that there would be energy for business cluster groups to operate, stressing that once there was energy, businesses would grow, spending would be less and production would be boosted.
Musa said that there would also be green economy whereby people could tap into virgin lands for agricultural purposes and blue economy whereby one tapped into water transportation.
He said that Lagos had aquatic surroundings that support water transportation and could boost revenue of the state.
He noted that the education sector would also be looked into with more schools built and teachers motivated, adding that education would be free and compulsory.
Musa decried that situation where pupils were crowded in a classroom, saying that he would ensure that it would be 20 pupils or students per class.
He said that there would be an additional university of technology in Lagos.
He advised the electorate not to mortgage their future and that of the unborn generations by selling their votes.
The ANDP candidate advised voters to make their votes count as their vote was their power.
He said that he was optimistic that he would win the election because of his passion for the development of Lagos. (NAN)
