Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother Kidnapped in Delta

Reports  Sunday afternoon said Gunmen  kidnapped the mother of Nigeria’s finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Professor Kamene Okonjo believed to be in her late 70s was taken from her family home in Ogbe-Ofu, Ogwashi-Ukwu, Delta North Senatorial District, family sources said. Her husband, Professor Chukwuka Okonjo, the traditional ruler (Obi) of Ogwashi-Ukwu was away in Abuja when the gunmen attacked.A statement by

Delta State police public relations officer, PPRO, Charles Muka in his reaction said  “yes, we (police) have got the information on the kidnap and we have also got information that will lead to the arrest of the hoodlums”, according to Vanguard newspaper.

The woman who is a trained medical doctor and a professor was pushed into one of the Audi cars and driven to an unknown destination.
