Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of Anambra Governor, Dr Willie Obiano, on Monday distributed Christmas gifts to over 500 children drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event took place at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, Awka South Local Government Area of the state.
Obiano, who was represented by Mrs Oby Okeke, wife of the Deputy Governor, said that the gesture was aimed at giving the less privileged a sense of belonging.
She urged the people to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ by living in peace and harmony with one another.
NAN reports that highlights of the event were the cutting of the Christmas cake, distribution of gifts and dance by the children. (NAN)
