The All Progressive Congress APC has warned mischief makers over manufacturing of fake news against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha.
This is contained in a statement signed by the
National Publicity Secretary, APC Mandate Defenders, Mr. Ifeanyi Emeka and made available to Newsdiaryonline.
The Group alleged that SaharaReporters among others online news media have been sponsored to manufacture lies and disparaging stories against the SGF.
“It has come to the notice of the APC Mandate Defenders of the sustained conspiracy and manufacturing of fake and hallucinatory news stories against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha by some online news media and their sponsors with the elusive hope of distracting, mudslinging and disparaging the person and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Federation (OSGF) before the right thinking members of the public.
“Accordingly, we are aware of how SaharaReporters was paid N20 million by a particular politician to be manufacturing lies, fictions and syndicating disparaging stories against the SGF and President Muhammadu Buhari with the intention of destroying their goodwills as well as lowering their estimation before the general public.
“In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Mr. Ifeanyi Emeka, the group said, the SGF owes no apology to anyone for solidly standing with President Buhari as well as coordinating the implementation of Mr. President’s policies and programmes in line with his campaign promises to Nigerians.
“This government is a government of the people and not the government of the few who want to grab power at all costs.
“We have said it before that power belongs to God and that only God can give power to whoever He has chosen.
“Therefore, attempting to bring down the Government of President Muhammadu Buhari as well as attacking his loyal aides and trusted associates by sponsoring fake news, street protests and insecurity in the land for the sake of power is one of the greatest disservices to God and humanity.
“As for those who are with Mr. President in the body but are against him in the spirit, we challenge them to prove their complete loyalty or face the divine judgement of God against them because Buhari’s government is a government ordained by God,” they stated.
The Group also advised journalists and bloggers to always verify their stories before publishing them to avoid playing in to the hands of political desperadoes.
