The Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo on Thursday donated 25 motorcycles and 30 grinding machines to empower women and youths in the council.
Sabo said the gesture was to encourage entrepreneurship among women and youths in the area for self reliance.
“We are giving out twenty five motorcycles and thirty 30 grinding machine to encourage entrepreneurship and reduce all kinds of social vices in the area.
“This gesture is not expensive but as recognition of the contributions of the people to the success of this administration, and more of this will be coming.
“What you are enjoining today is a privilege; therefore, you should use this empowerment to develop yourselves.
“My administration deems it necessary to improve the lives and wellbeing of people through resources that will transform youths and women for sustainability,’’ he said.
The chairman said those that were yet to benefit should exercise patience, adding that he was aware of the contributions and support of the people.
Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mr Useni Bako thanked the chairman for the kind gesture and promised to use the motorcycle given to him to start business in the area. (NAN)
