‘We Know Where The Chibok Girls Are’,Says Nigeria’s Chief Of Defence Staff

AIR CHIEF MARSHAL ALEX BADEHNigeria’s Military authorities have confirmed knowledge of the whereabouts of the School girls abducted from Chibok Borno State in Nigeria by Boko Haram . On Monday in Abuja, the Chief of Defence Staff,Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh said “The good news for the parents of the girls is that we know where they are, but we cannot tell you.”
But he failed to give details saying, “We cannot come and tell you the military secret, just leave us alone, we are working to get the girls back.”
The defence chief reportedly assured that the girls will be back.“We want our girls back, I can tell you that our military can and will do it, but where they are held, can we go there with force?” Badeh said.
This is the second assurance from top government officials on Monday about themoves to free the girls.Vice President Namadi Sambo who was represented at an even in Kaduna also told traditional rulers same day the federal government was committed to bringing back the girls.
But Badeh has bee more forthcoming as he explained the tricky nature of the task of bringing back the girls. According to Badeh “Nobody should say Nigerian military does not know what it is doing; we can’t kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back.
“So we are working, the President has empowered us to do the work, anybody castigating the military, definitely there is something wrong with him.”
Recall that global powers like the United States,United Kingdom,France and China among others have offred to assist Nigeria in her battle to bring back the girls and her fight against Boko Haram.
The US President Barack Obama also deployed 80 troops to Chad on a mission to help locate the girls.France hosted a meeting of African leaders(mostly Nigeria’s neighbours in Paris )about two weeks ago.
