The Kano state government has reviewed the restriction placed on the movement of motorcyclists in the state capital in view of the Ramadan period. The decision was taken during its periodic security council meeting.
According to the state government, the ban has now been relaxed by four hours, that is from 6 pm to 10 pm. The review is to facilitate movement to mosques and other places for Tafsir during the holy month of Ramadan only.
In a release signed by the Director General of Media and Communications to the Kano State Governor, Baba Halilu Dantiye the government, however, restated that the ban on multiple riding of motor cycles subsists.
According to Dantiye, it still “remains an offence to carry a passenger on a motorcycle.”
