The Police in Kano have arrested four persons for allegedly planting a time bomb at Waje Friday mosque in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Rilwanu Dutse, confirmed the arrest of the suspects in an interview with the News Agency Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Friday.
He said the suspects were apprehended around 1.30 p.m. on Friday after they abandoned the explosive, which was concealed in a polythene bag.
‘’The suspects are now in our custody and the bomb has since been defused by our bomb disposal experts,’’ he said.
He explained that investigation had also commenced while security had been beefed up in the area.
An eye witness told NAN that the bomb was planted by one of the suspects within the premises of the mosque.
According to the witness, some people at the mosque raised an alarm, which led to the arrest of the suspects. (NAN).
