Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto state on Saturday condoled the government and people of Kano state over the recent multiple bomb blasts that killed over 100 people last Friday.

Wamakko was in the palace of Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Lamido Sanusi where he expressed his grief for the people of Kano on incident.

He advised Federal Government that is saddled with the responsibility of protecting its citizens to come clear and open and fight the insurgency diligently.

According to Wamakko, “It is a shame that the federal government was yet to know with who it is fighting. The Northern region of Nigeria is close to being wiped out because everyday people are being killed in large numbers.”

While calling on the Federal government to look for the solution to this insurgency, he also promised to continue to assist security agencies with logistics as his government always do.

In his response, Lamido Sanusi thanked the governor for the concern and also urged governors to continue to look for better avenues to tackle the menace of insurgency affecting the region.

“The blood of the innocent people that is being shed will never go unpunished by Allah,” the Emir said.

He called on Nigerians to be vigilant and vowed that the Muslims will not be intimidated from coming together for congregational prayers.

At the Kano state Government House, Deputy governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje also thanked Wamakko for the condolence visit.

The governor was on the condolence visit with Senator Adamu Aleiro and Senator Saminu Turaki.
