Reports from Borno state said the joint security task force members have killed 7 people suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri,the capital.
This onslaught against the sect came a day after telecommunication masts of GSM service providers MTN,Airtel and others came under attack in several states in the Northern part of the country .
The sect reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks on the telecoms companies which it accuses of cooperating with the security forces to track their members’ lines.
The Inspector General of Police ,M D Abubakar yesterday ordered a 24 -hour surveillance of telecoms installations across the country in the aftermath of the attacks.
