Arrangements have been concluded for President Goodluck Jonathan to commission the Multi-Billion-Naira Phases 3 and 4 of the Abuja Water Treatment Plants on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
The FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, who made this disclosure on Tuesday in his office, said that the commissioning would take place at the Lower Usuma Dam along Bwari Road, Abuja.
Senator Mohammed revealed that there is an existing Phases 1 and 2 Water treatment Plants treating 10 million litters of water per hour and these new ones will treat additional 20 million litters per hour (20,000M3/HR), thereby making it 30 million litters per hour.
The Minister remarked that these treatment plants have been completed in line with the vision of the Transformation Agenda of the Federal Government.
According to him, these plants will go a long way in bidding farewell to water scarcity in the Federal Capital City and its environs.
He emphasized that the historic occasion will further translate the Transformation Agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan to the residents of the Federal Capital Territory.
