#TrackNigeria – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria,FAAN has apologised to passengers,airlines and other airport users over the inconvenience caused by the fire outbreak at Owerri Airport, Monday.
Reports earlier said there was pandemonium as passengers fled following the fire incident.
FAAN said in an earlier statement that it had been able to swiftly bring the situation under control.
In a second statement Monday, FAAN said, “ Following the fire incident at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, earlier today, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria hereby apologise(s) to passengers, airlines and other airport users for any inconvenience suffered as a result of the unfortunate incident.
General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs.Yakubu Henrietta who signed the statement concluded by saying, “We will continue to do our best at ensuring that our airports are safe, secure and comfortable for our esteemed customers.”
