The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 25 year-old man for allegedly raping an 8 years old girl.
The suspected rapist, Auwalu Abdullahi a resident of Tilden Fulani in Toro LGA in Bauchi state was arrested by police detectives from Toro division.
According to Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of Bauchi state Command, DSP Haruna Mohammed the suspect was arrested on 4th of January 2014.
He said “On the 4/01/2015 at about 15;00hrs, police detectives attached to Toro Division arrested one Auwalu Abdullahi male and 25yrs of Tilden Fulani in Toro LGA.
According to him, “Suspect lured an 8 –year- old girl who happened to be the daughter of his neighbor into an uncompleted building and had unlawful canal knowledge with her.Scene of crime was visited and victim rushed to the hospital for medical examination where penetration was confirmed.”
Meanwhile 2 suspected car thieves were also arrested by police along state Low Cost area in Bauchi metropolises according to DSP Mohammed.
The PPRO said ” on the 5/1/2015 at about 02:00hrs police detectives attached to State Anti robbery squad while on patrol along State Lowcost, Bauchi arrested one Abdullahi Musa male and 25 years of Railway Bauchi and one Lawal Mohammed 32 years male of Kafur in Katsina State respectively.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that suspects specialised in stealing Motor vehicles and have confessed (to) stealing many vehicles, especially Honda Civic where parked with fabricated master keys.
Further investigation also revealed that suspects are habitual criminals and have been convicted of similar offence and sentenced to imprisonment where they met and became partners in crime.
“In a related development, detectives attached to State Anti Robbery Squad equally smashed a syndicate who specialized in Vandalizing Nitel Cables on the 5/01/2015 at about 01:30hrs while on patrol along Wunti street Bauchi.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects according to Mohammed include, Seven Nitel Cables Wire, Two Hack Saw , One Cutting machine .
He said all cases are under investigation saying that suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
