Two days after he withdrew from Presidential race under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal today purchased the party’s Expression of Interest form to run as governor of Sokoto state.
Speaking before paying for the form, Tambuwal said that he dropped his presidential ambition as a result of wide consultations with his people.
“Although some people wanted me to run for Presidency, after due consultations, I decided to come back home work together for the development of the state,” he said.
Tambuwal eulogized the leadership qualities of Governor Aliyu Wamakko. “Our Governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko is a great leader. We are happy that today people have asked me to contest in order to continue with the good works of Governor Wamakko.”
State APC Chairman, Alhaji Bala Hassan Abubakar enjoined aspirants and supporters to unify themselves for the progress of the party.
