Reports from Kano,Nigeria indicate that some Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC operatives Wednesday raided the house of a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke (SAN) in the northern city.
An eye witness said the operatives broke down the doors of the house. But the exact essence of the mission could not be determined.
According to the eyewitness, “There was no evidence of a search warrant but they broke down some doors, searched everywhere and the roof.
He also claimed that ““They found nothing after breaking down the doors of his residence in Kano.”
The source further said there was “No information on the actual mission of the operatives.
According to him,“This invasion is without deference to the ongoing cases in court against the ex-AGF.
It could be recalled that the EFCC has dragged the ex minister to court over the Malabu oil deal.But the ex minister has claimed that EFCC has been churning out lies to protect some special family interests.
Also recently, EFCC urged an Abuja court to issue a bench warrant for the arrest of the minister.
A senior official of EFCC contacted said he could not confirm who carried out the operation.He pledged to contact Newsdiaryonline when facts are available.Other official sources confirmed that the operation was in deed carried out by EFCC operatives.
