Bauchi APC Leaders Want Former House Member For Senate

Leaders of various political groupings within the All Progressives Congress ,APC in Bauchi State have mounted serious campaigns for a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Samaila Ahmed Ileli, to vie for the Bauchi Central Senatorial seat come 2015.
The political leaders who go by the name, Concerned politicians from Bauchi Central Senatorial Zone, said they have been operating in the six local government councils that make up Senatorial District.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja over the weekend, leader of the group ,Alhaji Aliu Baffa Darazo,said that his group has viewed the political landscape in the state and decided that ”in the interest of fairness,”,he should run.
He argued further that the demand is being made because the zone in question comprises three Emirates, namely,Ningi[Worji], Misau[Dambau] and Bauchi[Darazo,Gaujuia].
He explained that among the three, Ningi and Missau have held the senatorial seat twice each while Bauchi Emirate has only held it once.
The group’s leader stated that in addition to the above fact, Darazo local government council has never produced a Senator before. “In view of this fact,we insist that the most prominent political figure the zone, Hon. Samaila Ahmad Ileli, should be encouraged to contest for the Senatoral seat in 2015.
He said the choice of Hon. Ileli for the Senatorial contest is based on merit as the man has remained outstanding in his political carreer.
“Hon. Ileli has been a member of the House of Representatives, as well as being the state Chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention[NRC]. Besides, he is trustworthy and very reliable. There are the qualities we found in him that made many of the political actors in our zone to urge the leadership of APC to settle for him , for the Senatorial election in 2015”, Darazo said .
