Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was among the dignitaries who witnessed the special durbar to mark #KanoAt50 at the Emir’s Palace .The former vice president arrived the venue alongside Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.There were announcement of some top officials from Niger Republic.
The Durbar itself was a colorful displace of horses and their riders who came in groups into the arena much to the joy of the guests and the people present.Aside from the traditional title holders who led their respective groups colourfully into the arena, there were other cultural displays like the traditional gun salutes.The salute was marked by big booms of their gun fire in quick succession.It was a delightful scene.
The crowd was elated as the Emir of Kano,Muhammadu Sanusi II rode his horse in full royal regalia to the arena.He was cheered by the mammoth crowd.
After the display by the horse riders, governor Ganduje was hailed by a crowd of young men and he also waved at them in appreciation as the durbar came to its end.
The Kano golden jubilee investiture and award night followed afterwards. Atiku who was also among the dignatories present delivered an address.
