A 21-year-old sales representative, Aminat Oluwole, on Friday appeared in a Tinubu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing N223,000 belonging to MultiChoice.
The police charged Oluwole, whose address was not provided, with two counts fraudulent conversation of money and theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence from May to July, 2020 at the MultiChoice franchise, 133, Amadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
He said that the defendant stole N233,000 subscriptions fees belonging to her employer, Olafeosun Enterprises, a MultiChoice franchise.
The prosecutor said that Oluwole collected the money, did not remit it to her employer’s account and fraudulently converted the money to her personal use.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287 (7) and 337 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate A.A. Paul admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 15, for mention. (NAN)
