Adamawa Acting Governor swears in 9 Commissioners, appoints 50 advisers

Adamawa state Acting Governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has sworn-in nine Commissioners to assist him in running the affairs of the state,the swearing in of the commissioners came few hours after their screening and confirmation by the state House of Assembly who got their list from the acting governor on Wednesday.
Speaking at the swearing in ceremony at Government House Yola, the Acting Governor, Fintiri said they were picked based on merit and much was expected from them in moving the state forward.
Fintiri cautioned them against corrupt practices in the discharge of their duties, adding that the interim administration was committed to handing over a better Adamawa to the next government and would not condoned any act of indiscipline.
Responding on behalf of the commissioners, Chief John Elias,a former commissioner in the previous administration of Boni Haruna thanked the acting governor for considering them worthy of the appointment and assured that they will not disappoint the people of Adamawa.
The new commissioners included Felix Tangwami from Demsa Local Government, Saidu Mustafa from Song, Rogers Nathan from Hong, Jummai Wulasha from Guyuk and Ahmad Alhassan from Maiha.
Others are Bashir Ahmad from Mayo-Belwa, Justina Obadiah from Lamurde and Nuhu Bobbo from Fufore.
The acting governor whose tenure is expected to last three months, had earlier on Monday appointed 50 special adviser to assist him in running the affairs of the state.
It could be recalled that in its continued series of probe following the ousting of former Governor Murtala Nyako, Fintiri led administration on Tuesday constituted and inaugurated a Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Governance with a promise to rescue and reposition the state and consolidate democratic dividends.
The panel, is specifically constituted to probe the administration of impeached former Governor Murtala Nyako, who is being accused of having plundered Adamawa State of over N80 billion.
