The Deputy President, Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr Suleiman Gaya has advised Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State to have constant interactions with the media in order to highlight his achievements.

Gaya who spoke on Saturday in Gombe, in an interview with newsmen, said the governor required regular interface with journalists.

“One thing he (should) do is to beef up publicity, not propaganda of course; he needed to create more time to interface with the media to show examples among Nigerian leaders.

“ Journalism is not just about criticisms and leaders  that are doing their best needed to be encouraged,” he said.

The deputy president said himself and nine other members of the NGE inspected many projects executed by Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo.

“We have seen it, is not about propaganda, it is a reality, he has recorded very wonderful achievements and we find it very amazing.

“There are some governors that even celebrate commissioning things like transformers and so many irrelevant things.

“But in Gombe, we have seen a governor that is really focused, serious and determined in touching the lives of his people,” he said. (NAN)
