Not less than 35 people including soldiers and local hunters were feared to have been Killed as Boko Haram exploded a bomb on Thursday at a spot where people of ten gather near Mubi, Adamawa State.
According to an eyewitness,“The explosive may have been planted by members of the Boko Haram on the day before and it went off while people, including soldiers, gathered in the morning to strategise on their next point of action,” he said.
He said further,“My house is some metres from the scene of the incident. I stood outside my compound watching the suburb and all of a sudden, I heard a loud bang which shook the entire area.
“The few people that were returning to the area started fleeing and it was immediately cordoned off by the military.”
Also several residents are reportedly fleeing from Gubio in Borno State on the heels of a letter by Boko Haram serving them notice of an impending attack.
Those who fled arrived Maiduguri in lorries, vans and others .One of them reportedly said “ We have been threatened with letter by the Boko Haram insurgents, saying that they would attack us soon and we all have to flee for our lives having heard of what happened to communities like Damasak and Malumfatori where similar threat were made and carried out”.
