ASUU:At Last FG Blinks,Shifts Deadline to December 9

wikeReports Tuesday evening said the Federal Government has shifted the date for the reopening of Nigeria’s public universities to December 9th .It may in deed be an indication that the FG is seeking ways out a cul de sac following criticisms which trailed the December 4 deadline Education Minister,Nyesom Wike issued for striking university lecturers to return to work or be sacked.
Several Nigerians including Senate President David Mark,civil society activists, opposition political parties and former President Ibrahim Babangida cautioned the FG against the use of threat as a tool for resolving the ASUU crisis.
Earlier on Tuesday, Presidential aide, Doyin Okube said on Channels TV that the FG has deposited N200billion in a CBN account as part of the measures towards resolving the crisis.But Dr Nasir Fagge,ASUU president said their should be proper documentation to convince the union.
Whether the shift of FG ordered resumption date to December 9th will actually change remains to be seen.
