The Borno Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Sanusi Ibrahim, has confirmed the donation of a fire truck to the command by the Borno state government.
Confirming the development to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Monday, in Maiduguri, Ibrahim said the gesture was in response to a request made by the FRSC Corp Marsha, facilitated by Rep. Zanna Usman of Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency of Borno, and also a member of House Committee on FRSC.
Ibrahim said the fire truck would enhance the activities of the FRSC in the state, particularly in the event of any road accidents that involved fire.
“With this truck we are going to train our personnel on how to handle it properly. We will not have to be running up and down looking for fire service, whenever there is a road accident with fire outbreak since we now have a fire engine,” Ibrahim said.
He lauded the state government for the gesture, saying that it showed the level of commitment and synergy between the government and FRSC to save lives and properties. (NAN)
