After 15 years of marriage, a mother of four, Mrs. Aisha Haruna, told an Emirate Security Council attached to Kwamba Suleja that her husband, Mr. Lawal Haruna, was not the biological father of their four children and was not responsible for a pregnancy she was seen with.
Lawal had complained to the Emirate Security Council that his wife Aisha packed out of their matrimonial home with the four children without his consent, urging them to instruct her wife to return his four children.
She said: “When I married for 15 years ago we both swore to an oath not to reveal the secret that my husband is not the biological father of the children. And for the past 15 years, we have been keeping that secret by not allowing anybody to know that my husband is not the biological father of the four children and the pregnancy that I am carrying.”
When asked to shed more light on the alleged secret, Aisha insisted that she would do so only if her husband brought the oracle with which they swore to the oath before the Emirate Security Council’s Office, to release her from the covenant
“I will urge the Security to tell my husband to bring the oracle with which we swore to the oath and release me from it before I can reveal the secret. I cannot give the details of the secret of who the real father of the children is until I am released from the oath,” she said.
However, her husband did not deny the allegation but insisted that he was the biological father of the four children.
Reacting Malam Audu Gambari said Lawal should bring the oracle with which they swore to an oath to the office or they should arrange with family members to go to the village to sort it out amicably.
