The 3 Division, Nigeria Army Rukuba Jos has organised an inter-brigade combat proficiency competition to improve troops physical fitness.
A statement by Maj. Ikechukwu Eze, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations said that the competition slated for Sept. 9 to Sept. 13 was also to foster esprit-de-corps and cultivate healthy rivalry among competing formations of the Division.
“The competition will further sharpen junior leadership quality and enhance level of initiation among competing troops.
“Participating formations will compete keenly in map reading, combat run, obstacle crossing, tug of war and weapon handling which will take place at Miango Shooting Range.
“In view of the aforementioned, the public is hereby informed that the period of the competition will involve movement of troops and weapons, they are to go about their businesses without fear,” he said.
Eze advised people to stay away from Miango Shooting Range area especially within the periods between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 as the competition progresses. (NAN)
