Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto Gets New Vice Chancellor

A new Vice Chancellor has been appointed for Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS).He is Prof. Abdullahi Zuru.
His appointment was on Friday approved by the Governing Council of the University.The announcement was made to news men by the Pro-Chancellor and chairman of the council, Dr. George Egabor.He said it was approved at the Council’s 127th Special meeting and the appointment takes effect from July 16, 2014.
Egagor added that Zuru’s appointment followed the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Riskuwa Shehu.
According to him, Zuru got the highest score of the eight candidates that interacted with the joint Governing Council and Senate Selection Board for the appointment of the Vice Chancellor.
Commending the outgoing Vice chancellor for performing wonderfully in the University, Egabor also promised to support Zuru to succeed in his assignment.
Until his appointment, Zuru was the Vice Chancellor of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero (KSUSTA).
