Tambuwal Decries Vehicle Overload, Accident-Related Deaths

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state directed all schools in the state to establish safety clubs in order to assist in enlightening the people on traffic regulations.

‎He spoke when he received the Corps Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi at Government House on Friday.

While tasking men and officers of the Corps to double their efforts in order to achieve their core objectives, Tambuwal also urged them to team up with the state media cooperation to increase its enlightenment programmes in Sokoto state.

The governor decried the high level of traffic violation and overloaded by vehicles that ply the roads in the state as well as high rate of deaths caused by tanker-related accidents on various roads across the country.

Boboye said earlier that past governments had done a lot to improve the working condition of FRSC ‎in the state, and expressed confidence that the gesture would continue.

While commending Tambuwal for his stirling leadership qualities from when he was Speaker  of House of Representatives, the Corps Marshal added that FRSC would work closely with Sokoto State Government in order to ensure the success of its safety policies.
