Some persons suspected to be thugs and alleged stalwarts of the All Progressive Grand Alliance ,APGA on Sunday morning set a building housing INEC office at Mgboko Obingwa headquarters on fire in Abia state .
Though there was no official statement yet from the Commission but eyewitnesses said the arsonists came with weapons such as guns,axes and knives and gallons of fuel.
According to one of the eye witnesses,”They were chanting APGA victory songs and brandishing APGA emblems.” Newsdiaryonline could not independently verify the claims of the eyewitnesses.
But Newsdiaryonline learned that the police in the state have commenced investigations into the incident.
“The Police are investigating the incident and the culprits will soon be arrested”, a source told Newsdiaryonline.
