The Sultan of Sokoto,Muhammad Saad Abubakar has announced the sighting of the new moon in Nigeria.
Making the announcement in Sokoto, the Sultan said the new moon has been sighted in several parts of Nigeria including Borno, Zaria, Sokoto among others.
Therefore, he declared that Sunday is eid-el-fitri Sallah day.
Earlier, reports said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had announced that Sunday would be eid el fitir day following the sighting of the new moon.
