Senate confirms Buhari’s nominees for appointment into Nigerian Petroleum Regulatory Authority

The Senate has confirmed President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominees for appointment as Executive Directors of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority

This followed the review and consideration of the report of its Committee on Downstream Petroleum Sector presented by its Chairman, Senator Mohammed, Sabo (Jigawa South-West) at plenary on Tuesday.

Those confirmed are: Francis Alabo Ogaree (Executive Director, Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure), Dr.  Mustapha Lamorde, (Executive Director, Health, Safety, Environment and Community), Mansur Kuliya (Executive Director, Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund), Bashir Sadiq, (Executive Director, Corporate Services and Administration) and Dr. Zainab Gobir (Executive Director, Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning).

Senator Mohammed Sabo, while presenting the report said  the Committee screened the nominees and found them qualified and there was no adverse security report or petition against any of them.

Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over  Tuesday plenary congratulated those confirmed and urged them to work hard to improve the petroleum sector.
