Reports reaching Newsdiaryonline.com said the STF has arrested at least 3 persons in connection with yesterday’s rocket attack s on an Islamic School and other locations in Bukuru ,Plateau state.The suspects were picked up in Gyel village after STF operative stormed there in what a correspondent described as a ‘commando operation’.
The STF had stormed the village following strong suspicion that the rockets which hit Bukuru yesterday were launched from there .It was learnt that as the security operatives arrived the village today, women and youth came out to protest against any form of search operations there. But the STF men fired their guns into the air, a move which swiftly dispersed the protesting women and youth. It was not immediately clear if anybody was hurt in that standoff.
Captain Salisu Mustapha, spokesman of STF could not confirm today’s operations. He told reporters who contacted him that he was not aware of this last development because he had gone on assignment elsewhere.
At least three Rocket Propelled Grenades were launched into Bukuru Jos yesterday.
