#TrackNigeria: The Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO), Lagos Chapter says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate,
The group on Monday advised the electorate in Lagos not to take the PDP serious in the upcoming Governorship and House of Assembly elections.
According to BYO, eligible voters in the state should ignore the opposition parties, but vote for all the candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections.
“We all know the antecedent of PDP as shown with the last general elections at the Federal level where Nigerians could not afford to leave the treasury and resources of our beloved country in the hands of the umbrella-wielding party.
“We cannot pitch tent with a seasonal political face that only shows up when the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is dusting the ballot papers for electioneering.
“This only shows that the quest is just for power and not for human service,” the group said in a statement jointly signed by Mr Kunle Aderibigbe and Mr Abduwaheed Odunuga, the Secretary and State Coordinator of the group respectively.
According to them, seeing local PDP stakeholders and apologists presenting “O to ge” (enough is enough) campaign shows the organisation or campaign group lacks initiatives and creativity.
The group said that copying what the APC implemented in Kwara as medium for getting power in Lagos further categorised the party as “Just Kidding’.
“PDP should forget getting Lagos, rather try to replicate what Lagos is doing in other states where they have been controlling for over 16 to 20 years.
“We can only afford to entrust Lagos in the hands of an experienced technocrat who means business and had been a playmaker, initiator and commissioner per excellence.
“We can only afford to entrust Lagos in the hands of an executor of various initiatives that have made Lagos commercially viable with a consistent secured Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) amongst other states of the federation.
“Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is a learned leader with acumen for social justice and innovative governance that will keep Lagos state on track for the desired development,”the BYO said in the statement.
The group said Lagosians needed to be mindful of some orators who were not executors that would keep their words.
According to the BYO, some only sound so good, interesting and articulate, but hardly change the status quo.
The group said that Lagos residents should not be made to choose a candidate simply based on how he can bamboozle or cajole the audience.(NAN)
