A certified safety company, Volkomen Concepts Limited, Ojodu, Lagos, on Wednesday in Abeokuta donated 30 reflective jackets to the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE).
The company’s representative, Mr Soremi Bimbo, while presenting the jacket to the TRACE Corps Commander, Mr Seni Ogunyemi, said the gesture was to ensure sanity and safety on highways.
Bimbo said also that the gesture was part of its appreciation of TRACE safety drive and the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
“Let me commend the enthusiasm, doggedness and professionalism exhibited by TRACE operatives in the discharge of their duty in spite of the huge tasks confronting them.
“I also want to encourage the operatives to be steadfast, persuasive, fair but firm where and when necessary, in discharging their duties,” he said.
He assured that the company would continue to support TRACE with more material resources in its determination to help reduce fatality in Ogun traffic corridor and other parts of the country.
Responding, Ogunyemi, thanked the company for identifying with TRACE and for heeding its call for support in order to reduce the rate of road traffic crashes in the state.
The corps commander said such assistance was necessary because government alone could not guarantee safety on the roads.
The TRACE boss appealed for more of such corporate support. (NAN)
