Enyimba International Football Club of Aba on Sunday drew 1-1 with hosts Kano Pillars FC in a week 9 match of the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Kano Pillars gave a good account of themselves from the beginning of the match played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
Striker Junior Lokosa opened scoring for the hosts in the 35th minute to increase his season’s goals’ tally to eight in nine matches.
Goalkeeper David Obiozor was however beaten by Emmanuel Anyanwu’s shot in the 40th minute for the equaliser.
Speaking after the match, Kano Pillars’ coach Ibrahim Musa praised the home fans for believing in the team even in a difficult match.
Musa, however, said the match was a difficult one for his team, praising his players for fighting relentlessly.
Musa said the team would be worked upon to give a better performance against Rangers International FC on Feb. 25.
Enyimba’s coach Paul Aigbogun, on his part, commended his players for their fighting spirit and picking a point against a good team like Kano Pillars.(NAN)
