Nigerian Army Determined To End Insurgency-Minimah

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah  has said Nigerian Army  will uses the  Nigerian  Army Day Celebrations, NADCEL week to reflect on its achievements.

Gen. Kenneth, represented by Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Major General Donald Mmaduakona Oji said Nigerian Army are determined to end the insurgency in the North East he disclosed this today at the Army Quarters Abuja. He added that this year’s NADCEL comes at a time that the Army , and indeed, the entire nation is striving to end the current security challenges threatening the unity of Nigerians.

According to him, ” the Nigerian Army (NA) as a force has the constitutional mandate to maintain the country’s territorial integrity and safeguard the live of law abiding and loyal citizens of the country” he affirmed.

He  stated further  that ” there would be two-day free medical services organised for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) which would be carried out by the Nigerian Army Medical Corps during the celebration” he assured.

He said  “there would be Juma’at prayers on Friday, July 3 at all the Nigerian Army formation headquarters nationwide; and inter-denominational Church service on Sunday, July 5, at all formations and units of the Army” he affirmed.

Minimah also noted that ” there would be wreath-laying ceremony at the Military Cemetery, and visit to hospital patients at the 7 Division Hospital and Medical Services.

The grand finale of NADCEL 2015 will be Chief of Army Staff’s address to troops and decoration of troops with medals in the area of operation by showing solidarity to them ‎ and we reassured the people of Borno state of the renewed determination of the NA to end the insurgency in that zone. The theme of this year’s Army Day celebration is: Equipping the Nigerian Army to Enhance Operational Efficiency in Combating Threats to National Security.
