The Surulere Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos has inaugurated new executive committee members to pilot the affairs of the branch for the next two years.

The Surulere Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos has inaugurated new executive committee members to pilot the affairs of the branch for the next two years.
The new excos were sworn in by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Chief Emeka Ozoani, who urged them to show good representation of the bar at all times.
Ozoani urged them to show good representation of the bar at all times during the swearing in on Wednesday.
He said the branch would endorse one of its members who is contesting for election into the national office of the NBA.
“We endorse Carolina Obi contesting for the National Treasurer as the candidate in the upcoming national election” he said
Meanwhile, in his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, Nwadukwe, expressed gratitude to members for their unity and participation in the peaceful election.
Nwadukwe said the caretaker committee were meticulous in their conduct of the election .
He also acknowledged his fellow contestants noting that they were all winners.
Nwadukwe said the NBA Surulere branch must continue to move forward.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the newly created Surulere branch of the NBA had its inaugural election on Friday.
The branch had elected Nwadukwe as the chairman and Enomma Mbanugo as the secretary.
Other elected members are Henry Obinna Ezeanyim as vice chairman, Rageeba Oloko assistant secretary, Maureen Ogochukwu as treasurer, and Salami Tajudeen as the Financial Secretary.
Others included Felicia Nosike as welfare Secretary, Okuwobi Mayowa as publicity secretary, Florence Duru as social secretary, while Kingsley Etim Ebimor is the Provost.
All members were elected unopposed except for the chairman and secretary.
In his speech after the election, the Chairman of the Caretaker committee of the branch, Mr Adekeke Agbola (SAN), had expressed gratitude to the electorate for the peaceful conduct of the election.
He had congratulated the winners and encouraged them to be gracious in victory. (NAN)
