A special meeting of ECOWAS holds in Ghana, Sunday, to deliberate on the political situation in Mali.
This was disclosed in a statement signed byNigeria’s Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina.
According to Adesina discussion about the special meeting of ECOWAS was the subject of a parley at State House, Abuja, Thursday between the Head of the ECOWAS Mediation Team, former Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, and President Muhammadu Buhari.
“President Buhari repeated his earlier avowal that whatever Nigeria would do on the Mali situation would be done within the ambit of ECOWAS,” Adesina said.
Reports said President Buhari also received a special envoy from Mali Thursday. They Buhari pledge to assist Mali with the tenets of ECOWAS.
