Kaduna state AIDS control Agency has distributed assorted grains to the Network of People living with HIV & AIDS (KADNEPWHAN) and Association of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (AOON)
The assorted grains distributed include 200 bags of rice, 80 cartons of vegetable oil, 80 bags of beans, 200 bags of Maize, 50 cartons of spaghetti, 80 cartons of palm oil and 80 cartons Groundnut oil.
Speaking at the occasion on Saturday . Executive Secretary Kaduna State Aids control Agency Dr. Haliru Musa Abubakar said the state Government will continue to support positive and vulnerable people in the State with nutritional food items to enable them play active role in the socio-economic development of the State.
He assured KADNEPWHAN and AOON of government’s determination to continue to build their capacity in all fields of human endeavour.
Dr Abubakar said the agency is well positioned to provide enabling environment to development partners for meaningful contribution in the response against the spread of new HIV & AIDS infections in the State.
The Executive Secretary explained that focus is also on Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV & AIDS (PMTCT) awareness campaign in the State.
According to him “we are working (towards) tackling the issue of PMTCT through initiating and adopting appropriate measures aimed at giving the PMTCT the desired attention” he said.
Dr Abubakar appealed for joint efforts among all stakeholders in the campaign against the spread as well as prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV & AIDS (PMTCT).
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries ,the State coordinators of Network of People Living with HIV & AIDS Kaduna, KADNEPWHAN, Mr. Benjamin Daniel said the effort by the state government would go a long way in improving the living condition of those infected and affected by the virus and assured of continued synergy among all the stakeholders in the state.
