The former Governor of Eddo State ,Mr Odigie John Oyegun has emerged as the national chairman of the opposition All Progressives Congress ,APC .His emergence followed the withdrawal of former Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa state from the race.
Oyegun is believed to be the candidate supported by Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the party and former governor of the state.
The fate of Mr Tom Ikimi who was also believed to be in the chairmanship race is unclear after he lost out in the political calculations.Sylva was believed to have been earlier supported by G-7 governors.
Tinubu had last night urged his party members to join him in sweeping away the Peoples Democratic Party.
Other key officials of the party that emerged include former governor Segun Oni as deputy national Chairman) and Alhaji Lai Mohammed who retained his position as national publicity secretary.
