President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday restated Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing tertiary education in the country.
Buhari made the pledge in a message to the opening of the permanent site of Federal University, Dutsinma in Katsina State.
He said that the government would continue to make tertiary education more accessible to Nigerians.
Buhari, who was represented by the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, said that interventions would continue to be carried out through TETFUND.
According to him, TETFUND was established to provide support through funding in the area of research and structure to enhance teaching and learning in tertiary institutions across the country.
He further said that the Fund would also support the provision of vehicles to ease transportation of students.
The facilities at the permanent site include Senate Building, Faculties of Sciences and Agriculture, library, laboratories and hostels for male and female students. (NAN)
