Reports today said gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect attacked operatives of the Joint Task Force,JTF in Damaturu, Yobe state capital.
Spokesman of Yobe Police Command ,Toyin Gbadegeshin reportedly said “the gunmen laid ambush on a security patrol team using explosive devices around Shagari low cost housing area” as he confirmed the attack.
Gbadegeshin said injured military personnel who were the targets of on attack patrol had been taken to a hospital for medical attention
“There were also gunshots reported around the ‘A’ division police station”,the spokesman said as he added that “We are still working to collect the details of the incident.”
On Friday, a suicide bomber who had apparently targeted the Emir of Fika in Potiskum killed himself as well as others as a blast ripped through the central mosque.The Emir escaped narrowly.
