Etsu Ayedo Nizassan, the traditional ruler of Kwali Area Council, has called upon operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Command to collaborate with traditional rulers for effective intelligence gathering.

Nizassan, speaking at the decoration ceremony of more than 500 newly promoted officers of the NSCDC FCT Command on Friday, emphasised the importance of traditional rulers as intelligence alert systems for security agencies.

“Traditional rulers will continue to provide the necessary support for you to carry out your responsibilities.

“They possess valuable information that can ease your work, and I urge you to maintain a strong partnership with them.”

Nizassan commended the Corps for their active role in ensuring the protection of lives and property.

He encouraged the newly promoted officers to embrace their new responsibilities, remain committed, and work diligently to elevate the service.

The NSCDC Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, noted that the promotions were a testament to the personnel’s hard work, resilience, and dedication.

“This is a call for greater responsibility, and you must present yourselves as shining examples to your colleagues.

“Prove that you merit your new rank by discharging your responsibilities as expected,” he said.

Odumosu also urged personnel to remain civil and firm in their approach, as Nigerians relied on the command and Corps for protection.

“We will not rest until the FCT is sanitised of those with criminal intentions,” he stated. (NAN)
