The Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has tweeted an update on ongoing operation around Maiduguri and Mongunu.
It states “Troops are repelling a simultaneous attack on Monguno and Maiduguri by Terrorists.”
It added that “Coordinated Air and Land OPs being conducted now.”
Meanwhile , a curfew has been imposed on Maiduguri with immediate effect till further notice.
Nigerian troops are currently repelling attacks by terrorists around Maiduguri and Mongunu, Borno State.
PRNigeria has gathered that several attempts by Boko Haram terrorists to attack and takeover the towns in the past had been successfully repelled through intelligence gathering and pre-emptive strikes by the troops.
