The National Coordinator of Civil Society for Made in Nigeria Products (CONMAP), Comrade Muhammad Attah has commended the Ministry of Science and Technology for recognizing the role of civil society in the promotion and exhibition of made in Nigeria products.
He made this commendation at the conclusion of the second edition of the Annual Science and Technology Expo, held at the Eagles Square, Abuja.
According to Attah, “We are really very glad for this year’s exhibition because there is great improvement from what we had last year. We strongly commend the Federal Ministry of science and Technology for giving us the opportunity and for even driving to this point.
“We specifically thank the director, Science and Technology Promotion for his role in ensuring that NGOs are always carried along in this kind of thing.
“We urge other ministries, agencies and parastatals emulate what the ministry of science and technology is doing. The ministry recognizes the role of civil society in the promotion and exhibition of made in Nigeria products,” he said.
Disclosing that the second edition of the science and technology EXPO had over 400 CSOs across the country, added that they utilized the window of participation to drive and promote the advocacy for Nigerians to patronize made in Nigerian products to the grassroot.
“We are also aware that it cannot be perfect when government is left alone to do it. We are supporting them with all that we have in terms of information dissemination to the people.
“We have a plan that in few years or months to come, we will go beyond this, to meet this people at the various states and local government levels,” he concluded.
