There is an on-going confusion in Ogun State House of Assembly  as factional battles have led to the Mace being broken and the police are said to have stepped in.

Newsdiaryonline.com learnt that at least two factions are at war and each faction claims to have suspended some members of the House. One faction led by Remi Hassan , a former deputy speaker has claimed that the Speaker of the State Assembly,Mr Suraj  Adekumbi and  his deputy Tola Banjo have been suspended.

But the speaker ‘s faction has also announced the suspension of four members of the House ostensibly including Hassan.

Observers say the factional  war is an amazing twist because Hassan is believed to be a former ally of Governor Ibikunle Amosun before they fell apart for reasons yet unclear.Hassan is now leading the battle  against  the pro Amosun Speaker of the House.

The renewed war is believed to be  part of an unfolding battle for 2015 elections in the state with several factions said to be jostling for control .

During the era of  former Governor Gbenga Daniel, the State House of Assembly was perpetually at war .But a source said the unfolding factional battle in the state may be hotter as more gladiators are seeking spheres of political influence now.
