A Jos Upper Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama, on Monday, sentenced 28 -year-old Kim Pam, to three years imprisonment for theft.
The Judge, Yahaya Mohammed, sentenced the accused after he pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
Mohammed, however, gave the convict an option to pay N10,000 fine following his plea for mercy.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt Ibrahim Gukwat, said one John Ali of Gada Biu, a vigilance member, reported the case to the Laranto police station on Jan. 10, after arresting the convict with a transformer coil.
Gukwat said that the offence contravened sections 351 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria.(NAN)
