The Minister just confirmed (Tuesday) by the Senate, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, from Taraba state has said nothing will give him greater joy in his entire life than the realization of the age long Mambila Electric Power project.
According to him, he has successfully delivered multi- billion naira projects in his 35 years of service before retirement.
“I don’t see this as a very difficult task” adding that “the problem is human and because it is human, we are half way into its solution. Don’t forget I’m from Taraba state”.
Sambo, while speaking with journalists at the National Assembly expressed appreciation to God and the President for deeming him worthy to be appointed as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I have served this country for 35 years. This is another opportunity afforded me to serve Nigeria in higher capacity.
“My prayer, (and I also request all of you to put me in prayer), and my prayer point is, may I, by the grace of God be able to justify the confidence that Mr. President reposed in me such that at the end of the day, we shall not only rejoice in what we have done, but have cause to glorify God”.
Earlier at the plenary, the Senate Leader, Sen. Abdullahi, Yahaya Abubakar (Kebbi North) set the stage for the confirmation of the minister through a motion “that the Senate do consider the request of Mr. President, C-in-C, for the confirmation of the nomination of Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, from Taraba State as Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of in accordance with Section 147(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999 (as amended)”.
Senators took turns to ask him some questions and expressed satisfaction with his answers.
Thereafter, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan put the question of those who want Mu’azu Jaji Sambo confirmed as minister, with a resounding “aye”.
