#TrackNigeria – President Muhammadu Buhari will travel on a private visit to the United Kingdom,the Presidency has said Thursday.
Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina who confirmed the President’s trip in a statement said Buhari is expected back in Nigeria on May 5,2019.
Prior to the confirmation of this trip, there had been speculations that the President may take some time off as he prepares for the inauguration of his second term.
Some reports even claimed that president was planning to use the trip overseas to finalise his new cabinet list away from rising domestic pressure.
However, Adesina’s statement reads: “Further to the official visit by President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos Wednesday where he commissioned a number of projects executed by the State Government, the President is scheduled to depart for Maiduguri, the Borno State capital for another official visit Thursday.
“He is expected to commission developmental projects especially in the sectors of education, healthcare and roads.
“At the end of the visit, President Buhari will be proceeding to the United Kingdom on a private visit. He is expected to return to Nigeria on May 5, 2019.”
